A great tip for a car trip: Maranello + Imola

Free time! | April 21st, 2017

What kind of a spring would it be without a great trip? There’s some great weather during this time of the year in Italy, so don’t hesitate and take a trip over there with your friends. Apart from the cultural landmarks and the nightlife, there’s also something for motorsport fans.

Start in Bologna

A great starting point is  the metropolis of the Emilia – Romagna region, the historical city of Bologna, which you should definitely check out. If you’re not travelling by car, you can arrive in the city by a plane on the G. Marconi airport, or on a train, since Bologna is one of Italy’s most significant railway nodes.

After your arrival, we recommend that you travel by car, which you can rent from  the many car rental services
the city offers. You really should spend at least one evening in Bologna, and  then you can make your way to Modena and Maranello.

Modena + Maranello

When leaving Bologna, take  the highway to Modena, which is about 50 kilometres away from the city. Modena is known not only for its rich history, but also for the fact that it is the hometown of brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. As a bonus, the town of Maranello is located not even 20 kilometres from Modena. Ferrari has moved its headquarters from Modena to Maranello, and it is there that you’ll find a unique museum of the world-famous brand.

You absolutely need to visit that museum; almost all of  the tour guides give  the museum 4 or 5 stars out of 5.  The ticket will cost you 15 euros, but students can get it for 13. Trust us, it really is worth it.

Imola + San Marino

You can get to Imola from Modena comfortably by  the highway. It’s only 85 kilometres away, so you’ll make the trip in just an hour. The race circuit in Imola, named after Enzo and Dino Ferrari, really doesn‘t need introducing to Formula 1 fans. Not only was the circuit home to many spectacular F1 races during  the San Marino Grand Prix, a lot of other exciting motorsport events took place here as well. Imola is also very close to the smallest republic in the world San Marino, another historical city of Ravenna, and the famous seaside resort Rimini. Choose according to your taste and time management, and then make your way back to Bologna.

Send this link to your friends, get to talking and planning and just do it. Prinx wishes you a safe and excellent trip!
